Glory Glory, the Majorettes are 40
Best friends in college, five former University of Georgia majorettes return to Athens, Georgia to celebrate turning forty by twirling at UGA's Homecoming Game. Once together again, they realize eighteen years apart turned them into very different people with little in common now.
When one of the girls, "Trish the Dish", fails to show up for their reunion, fear for her safety compels the four other women to drop everything and search for their friend in Los Angeles. Unwinding the mystery of her disappearance forces these former best friends to get reacquainted, not only with each other, but also with their own dreams and desires. Each must face her own personal mid-life crisis before their trip to La La land is through, and their lost friend found.
This heart-wrenching yet triumphant tale of female friendship reminds us that when life doesn’t turn out as we’d planned, we can depend on our best girlfriends to lift us up and remind us it’s never too late to make a change.
What happens when two adversaries must join forces to survive a dangerous mission in one of the last forbidden countries in the world?
Antonio Vega is a disillusioned dissident determined to save his sister from an abusive marriage and revenge his father’s murder in Cuba. He kidnaps Rebecca Menendez, a feisty Cuban-American TV reporter, demanding she document his perilous operation because he knows undercover video is the only way to prove what is really going on behind the political cloak of secrecy. Rebecca is also the daughter of the man who killed Antonio’s father, and Antonio’s plan is to also use her as bait to draw her father out and obtain his vengeance.
Rebecca Menendez grew up on the poor side of Tampa, always feeling inadequate: not popular enough, not classy enough, not valued enough, and definitely not wealthy enough. Her biggest source of pride has been her rebel father, killed by the Cuban government for reporting the truth.
When Antonio provides proof her dad is still alive and living in Havana, she’s shocked yet hopeful. Antonio offers her a trade: information to locate her father for the recording of his risky mission in Cuba.
If Rebecca goes along with Antonio’s precarious plan, she chances losing her wealthy, politician boyfriend, whose agenda includes changing the immigration laws for Cubans arriving to the USA.
Their journey takes the two reluctant partners from the steamy, sensual, and mysterious corners of Cuba, to the exclusive, elegant ballrooms of high-society Tampa.
With a traitor in their midst, can the Cuban and the Cuban-American bridge the distance between them in order to survive and trust each other long enough to let their growing physical attraction turn into real love?
